Turmeric, both in the raw as well as the powdered form is widely used for cooking and many skincare recipes. It’s numerous antioxidants as well as antibacterial properties make it a great for your skin, hair, and overall health.
With regular use, turmeric can brighten up your skin, reduce the appearance of stretch marks & acne, even out your skin tone, perform anti-aging functions, and give you smooth glowing skin.

Turmeric Scrub Recipe

You need three simple ingredients which you most probably have in the kitchen.
-Sugar: is added as an exfoliant. The crystals help in scrubbing off dead skin.
-Coconut oil: This is a great body moisturiser, because, it penetrates the skin like no other! But, you can substitute this with any other oil you want.

Step 1: Take about 2 cups of sugar and 1/4 cup (or 4 tablespoons) of turmeric.
Step 2: Slowly add in coconut oil till you get the texture of a scrub.
If you have dry skin add more oil, if you have oily skin add less oil. For normal skin just add oil till you get the perfect texture of a scrub i.e. not too oily, not too dry.
Use 2-3 times a week for best results. Scoop it out and gently scrub on your body. Massage well on to the skin. Leave it on for as long as you can 5, 10 or 20 minutes. Then wash off with warm water, don't use soap as this will wash away the turmeric completely.
Your skin will be tainted yellow but that's okay. The color will go away after a while. Preferably use it night so you don't have to worry about looking yellow all day. By next morning the color will be gone.
